The new, virtual Cosburn Clubhouse and Bowling Matters Online
Welcome back to the Cosburn Clubhouse, our new online hub where members can find our most frequently used website functions in one place.
This is also the new home of our revived blog, Bowling Matters Online. The blog is an online complement to Bowling Matters, our member e-newsletter. We post favourite content from Bowling Matters—new and old—plus unique content only available here.

Commenting policy
We hope you’ll also contribute by commenting on posts you like and those you disagree with. Our ground rules for commenting are like the etiquette in lawn bowls: the main rule is to treat your teammates and opponents with kindness and respect. Try to understand the perspectives of the post writer and other commenters, and if you disagree, respectfully explain why.
Deleting comments
We use filters that are designed to block comment spam. Comment spam is when unscrupulous marketers post comments that are simply ads promoting, for example, ED drugs, porn sites and get-rich-quick schemes. If you need those services, you’ll have to find them on your own. Occasionally the filters block a legitimate comment, especially if it contains multiple links. If that happens to you, please email webmaster@cosburnbowls.ca.
The first time you comment, our moderators will assess whether it’s from a real person before it’s posted. This is another way we can reduce annoying comment spam.
Remember that our first rule is to treat others with kindness and respect. If you don’t do that, your comment may be removed. We’ll almost certainly remove a comment that:
- Is mean-spirited or excessively disparages others.
- Is only meant to hijack or derail the conversation. Trolls have no business at a lawn bowling club.
- Contains personal attacks, including those using racist, bigoted or sexist terms.
- Uses vulgar, profane, or unnecessarily harsh language.
- Makes a claim that could be libellous.
- Impersonates someone else.
- Is spam, appears to be written primarily to post a link or advertise, or contains an affiliate link.
That’s not necessarily a complete list. We may remove comments at our own discretion, and we will err on the side of maintaining a safe and friendly community.
Safe, friendly and welcoming, just like Cosburn Park’s real clubhouse.
