New Monday night format starting in July! 🎉
Starting in July, every Monday night we’re switching things up! We’re moving from New Member Bowls Night to the exciting Aussie Pairs, proudly sponsored by the Toronto Rainbowlers. Never played Aussie Pairs before? No worries — we’ve got you covered with simple rules and friendly gameplay that’s perfect for all skill levels. Come join the fun, make new friends, and improve your game!
🟢 Game format: Australian pairs
Each team has two players—for example, Team A & B vs. Team X & Y. A coin toss decides which team starts.
How It works
First end:
-
Players A and X each bowl 2 bowls, alternating turns
-
Then they switch ends with their partners
-
Players B and Y each bowl 4 bowls, alternating turns
-
Everyone switches ends again
-
Finally, Players A and X bowl their last 2 bowls to finish the end
Second end:
-
Players B and Y start the next end, following the same sequence
This rotation means everyone plays different roles—Lead, Skip, and Vice—throughout the game. This pattern continues for the entire match.
đź•– Game night details
-
We play two games of 6 ends each
-
Game 1 ends at 7:55 PM, followed by a quick redraw for Game 2
-
Teams for Game 1 are assigned by random draw
-
For Game 2, winners from Game 1 will be paired randomly with non-winners to keep things fun and balanced for all
⚖️ Got an odd number of players? No worries!
If we have an uneven number of participants, we’ll mix in alternative formats like singles or 4-3-2-1 so everyone gets to play. No one will be left sitting out!
Ready to give Aussie Pairs a go? Come out and bowl with us — all skill levels welcome! 🏆🎉
